Acupuncture,Chinese Medicine and Massage can help you sleep

Have you ever woken up and thought “DO I HAVE TO GET UP YET”
If you have you could be experiencing the first signs of sleep deprivation.
For every hour your body misses out on its required sleep quota, the body clock saves it up and says to itself, “THAT’S “X” NUMBER OF HOURS I NEED TO CATCH UP ON”!
Not only do you feel tired, the functions of the body that go on behind the scene are also affected.
It weakens the immune system, it has been tied to obesity, our thought and behavioural patterns are altered, it accelerates the pathways that develop cancer and heart disease and stroke due to high blood pressure.
So to help you decide whether you are sleep deprived or not there are several signs you can use as indicators.
1. You fall asleep as your head hits the pillow or in mid-sentence while having a discussion in bed with your partner. Considered a sleep disorder.
2. You are more hungry than usual.
3. Forgetfulness. Mmmm why did I come into this room???
4. Slurred speech or words simply don’t come out right.
5. Inability to concentrate for periods that should be a piece of cake!!!!
6. Catching everything that the Kids bring home from pre-school , and there is a myriad of those. Immune dis-function or immune suppression.
7. Petty arguments with your partner or children, researchers at Berkley Uni found that lack of sleep reduces ability to handle conflict.
8. Lack of clarity of thought or as it is often described "BRAIN FOG".
9. Waking with a headache or dull head each day.
I guess the next question you want answered is HOW MUCH SLEEP DO I NEED?
Research has shown that adults who get less than 7 hours sleep a night, whether for one night or over the course of days, weeks or months- have more difficulty concentrating and more mood problems than those who get 7 to 9 hours.
There is no MAGIC NUMBER and there are many variables. The figures above are a guide but all researchers seem to arrive at 7 hours as a minimum or you are a candidate for chronic sleep deprivation.
