Scar release

This session is created for women who’ve had a C-section birth, hysterectomy, or other abdominal, chest or pelvic surgeries- like keyhole procedures, organ removal, cancer-related surgeries, mastectomy and implant removal.

As a pelvic floor acupuncturist I am trained to treat episotomy scars.

In this session, I gently assess and work with the scar itself, as well as the surrounding areas - your abdominal wall, diaphragm, and ribs. Because everything is connected, I also look at how your back, hips, and even your neck may be affected.

Scar release treatment may be able to help if you experience

  • pain, discomfort or pulling around your scar

  • increased or decreased sensitivity around the scar

  • feelings of dissatisfaction or poor body image with the look and feel of your scar

  • trouble connecting to your deep core muscles despite how many core exercises you do

  • inability to fully expand your ribs or abdomen with a deep inhale

  • Back pain, bladder concerns following surgery

I use hands on release techniques, including cupping, gua sha and acupuncture, to soften the scar and any adhesions.

I also give you home practice tools to help your recovery.
